About The Event

An easy-going event with a moderately difficult walk where you can meet other people who enjoy our countryside.

All photographic abilities welcome from beginners who would like some advice to seasoned pros who just want to get out and shoot- the prerogative here is to enjoy our green and pleasant land, camera in hand!

We take a steady walk from the Mam Nick carpark (National Trust ticketed carpark, remember some change!) and enjoy the sweeping views of the Vale of Edale, the Hope Valley and Castleton. The walk end should coinside with sunset for some nice dusk shots from Mam Tor.

I will be on hand to give quick tips on photography and the area, as well as ideas and inspiration for what to shoot and look out for.

This is a steady-paced walk but there are a few quite steep hills along the ridge and back and some uneven ground/muddy areas so a moderate amount of fitness and and steadiness on-foot are recommended.

The total distance is approximately 5 miles.

The carpark can get very busy so please arrive early if possible to get a space.
